What is there to say about me? I am a 28-year-old former Lutheran Evangelical from a conservative background turned maybe Methodist Progressive trying to help others like me who are new to a freer, more love and grace-filled theology find community and resources. I want a space for Youth Leader (Pastors, Directors, Volunteers, or whatever title you have) to find a community where they can find the best resources to do what they do best. That is my hope in this chapter of my life.
Yes, there is a blog where I share my thoughts about youth ministry, working in the church, the struggles of fighting for what is right, trying new things, failing, failing again, and trying to make sense of it all. Let’s be honest that none of us have it all figured out in ministry, so let’s work together to do the best we can with the kids we have in the context we serve.
I hope you find hope, joy, authenticity, and comfort on this platform. I am unsure how this will shape out in the coming months and hopefully years, but I am excited for whatever shape it takes. Working in the church can be messy, but I hope this website can be a safe place to come and feel refreshed. If you have any comments or want to talk, please feel free to send me an email in the connect section.
To finish talking about me. I love to travel and explore with my fantastic wife, Abby. We have seen most of the Easter side of the US together, 21 states in total. I like to spend my free time in several different ways. I play video games to explore new stories. I cook to help find time to connect with Abby during the week. When I want to learn something new, I typically read about church stuff (there is so much!). I am always listening to podcasts about Dungeons and Dragons or Church stuff. But I really refill my energy tank by sharing good food and conversation with those closest to me.
